Calcutt Boats Ltd – Warwickshire
A canal holiday is so different. Time is no longer "money", distances become truly relative and speed – the blight of the motorway culture – is brought back into a perspective which includes the blade of grass, the singing of a blackbird or the smell of new-mown hay. When did you last have the opportunity to slow down, unwind, look around you and listen?
Pets are allowed on the boats, but Calcutt Boats do ask that they are kept off the seats and bedding. One pet can travel for free, for two pets (maximum), there is a £30 charge.
River Steam Holidays – Shropshire
Six cottages and lodges offering beautiful and comfortable accommodation, sleeping 2 - 8+ people. Weekly short breaks from three nights minimum available. All are equipped with TV and DVD players and all but one have internet access. Bed linen and towels are included as well as gas and electric.
The properties are situated just below the village of Highley nestled in the Severn valley between the river Severn and the Severn valley steam railway (30 yards from both). They all have beautiful clear views over the river and the valley. Perfect for people who want to get away from it all for some peace and quiet. With no main roads or industry any where near by. River walks connect to a network of footpaths. The walks can lead you deep into nowhere or to one of several villages and museums around the area and of course to the 17th Century Ship Inn which is in between the cottages and lodges.
All properties are family and dog-friendly.
Brynygwin Country House & Cottages – North Wales
Brynygwin Self Catering Country House & Cottages could hardly be better located. Safely within the Snowdonia National Park, it enjoys a completely rural setting with five acres of mature informal garden full of colourful shrubs and fine trees, fields to either side, 15 acres of woodland above, and a river for fishing just across the little road hidden below.
Brynygwin proves designer-suited for holidays away from modernity, rush and noise. Cars can park alongside their accommodation. Children and dogs can be safe in the enclosed cottage gardens, or free in the wider grounds. Wildlife lovers can enjoy birds, bats, badgers, and wild flowers. Fishermen can use our 100 metres of private riverbank and free permit to all the Dolgellau Angling Association waters. Walkers can set out in any direction with one of the many guidesheets provided. Mountain-bikers, narrow-gauge railway riders and castle connoisseurs find themselves ringed round with choice for their chosen pursuits.

It’s a place that’s all about the balance of life; being active, getting amongst the elements, eating and drinking well, spoiling yourself a little, chilling out, getting cosy and most of all having a good time!

Your canine companions can join you in The Beach Hut and The Living Space and there are plenty of dog friendly beaches on the North Cornwall coastline.
