This gorgeous breed is rising in popularity...

The Curly Coated Retriever has received a boost after a recent rise in popularity. Currently on The Kennel Club’s Vulnerable Native Breeds list, the rare gundog has welcomed 45 puppies so far in 2023 — a five-fold increase compared to last year, when just nine puppies were born.

Recognisable by its distinctive curly coat, the breed was developed to retrieve ducks from water, and is the tallest of the retrievers. It’s also thought to be the oldest.
