Coffee roasters and independent coffee spot Coffi Lab are brewing something truly special. From every bag of their Golden Decaf sold, 50p will be donated to the incredible Many Tears Animal Rescue – a charity devoted to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs from some of the most difficult circumstances imaginable.
The coffee itself carries deep personal meaning. At the very heart of Golden Decaf is Sir Gareth, a Golden Retriever adopted from Many Tears by Coffi Lab founder James Shapland and Managing Director Hannah Gillard. Rehomed with them in December 2025, his joyful face fronts the bag – a comforting reminder of just how powerful kindness can be.
When Sir Gareth first arrived at Many Tears, he was barely recognisable as the happy dog he is today. Rescued from a breeder, he was timid, withdrawn and sadly unsure of the world around him.
“He was so shut down. He didn’t come out of his crate for three days. Now he’s slightly wild! He just has so much more confidence.” – Hannah
At home, Sir Gareth found comfort in James and Hannah’s four-year-old Labrador, Brynmor, who became his emotional support and guiding friend. With time, gentle reassurance and endless affection, the fearful boy has grown so much in confidence. After many adventures, new friends and love pouring in from everyone lucky enough to meet him, today Sir Gareth is a fun-loving and happy boy – a testament to the work Many Tears does every day.
The graceful tail and relaxed temperament of the happy Retriever inspired Coffi Lab’s Golden Decaf – mellow, loyal and loveable with a little less tail-wagging gusto. Bursting with soft notes of juicy red apple and nutty rooibos, it offers all the comfort of a delicious sip, without the buzz. The team at Many Tears Animal Rescue work tirelessly to give dogs like Sir Gareth a second chance. Rescuing animals from breeders, pounds, difficult home situations and overseas, they rehabilitate them physically and emotionally before carefully matching them with their forever homes. The charity relies on the support of donations and the dedication of volunteers – from cleaning and walking to playing, socialising and showing frightened dogs that they are finally safe.
