 (Q) My 11-year-old dog has started snoring suddenly - is this anything to worry about?

(A) Vet Roberta Baxter says: Snoring can be normal for some dogs, particularly if they are overweight, but when it suddenly occurs it makes one wonder if the dog's respiratory system is working properly.

If your dog has suddenly starting snoring, he could have some kind of change his soft palate or throat that is causing more noise on breathing, or maybe he has a degree of laryngeal paralysis.
