Dogs can get stung by stinging nettles, but as they have a protective hair coat, they are far less sensitive than we are.

However, short or fine-coated dogs can develop a nettle rash after contact with nettles in the same way as humans.

In the case of severe nettle stings, antihistamine or anti-inflammatory medication may be needed.
