I GOT MY DOG FROM A RESCUE CENTRE LAST YEAR AND WHEN I FIRST GOT HIM HE RECKED THE HOUSE AND HE HAD NO TRAINING. I TOOK HIM TO DOG CLASSES FOR TRAINING WITH THE HELP OF TRAINING HE CAME IN 2ND LAST YEAR FOR A DOG COMPETITION. HE HAS TWENTY ROSETTES FROM COMPETITIONS. MIND HE STILL SOMETIMES FORGETS THE RECALL COMMAND AND JUST RUNS AWAY.

well done u for all the hard work youve put in, its definately worthwhile isnt it. Once you start seeing results thats when you feel the best isnt it?

i rescued my first dog (a male black labrador retriever called sam) just over 2 years ago. He was a stray so im guessing he was abandoned which always horrifies me, how could someone do that to the poor defenceless dogs is beyond me but hey he would have never come into my life if they hadnt would he, SO IM GRATEFUL FOR THAT I SUPPOSE. Well Sam is such a character, hes energetic, playful, loveable and loyal, he brightens up every day with his wagging tail. His favourite place is the beach and he loves playing fetch and hunting objects that i hide. I love him to bits and my life wouldnt be the same without him.

My second rescue dog is Trixie a female German Sheperd who was also a stray. we rescued her just over a year ago. She is the most perfect family pet, she is so special to us all, she has her own quirky ways of getting my attention, she will lift my hand with her nose while im sleeping as she wants me to stroke her, so funny and she also sits on my feet to make sure if i get up to go out she will know and she can come with me. her favourite place is the park so she can run and play with my lab.

Weve had a few problems along the way but with a bit of hard work we are getting there and eventually we will have a fantastic pack and my family will be complete.

My dogs mean the world to me and i hope everyone else can see that rescue dogs make the best pets and hopefully more and more people will rescue instead of breeding more and more puppies that may end up in rescue homes.

RESCUE DOGS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I rescued a dog and she was very well trained from the start, only one accident lol

we had to leave her in the house for a few minutes and when we got back she knocked over the plant pot, ate the plant, chewed the computer mouse, pulled the blanket out from her bed, and when we got back she was so happy with herself lol

anyway rescue dogs are great its like they know that you rescued the and they always try there hardest and are so loveable

they definately know you have saved them from the kennels, my german shepherd had been at the R.S.P.C.A for over a month, which is quite a long time for them and we were told by a member of the kennel staff that she was going to be 'MOVED ON' the next day if we didnt put our name down to reserve her, i just really hope by 'MOVED ON' they meant moved to another shelter and not something else that doesnt even bare thinking about. I suppose we were rushed into getting her but i wouldnt change her for anything in the world now, love her to bits.

I rescued my eldest dog, cookie who is a husky! I rescued her from a RSPCA home adopter or what ever it was called, cookie was 2 when we had her and was apparently locked in a shed all her life and when we got her she was skin and bone!! She was always friendly we never had a problem with that.... She didn't know how to play, she wouldn't eat her food an walking her... Was very very challenging!!

6 months on I couldn't and wouldn't want a life without her she stays by my side, eats so much, learnt how to play and terrorise our pet ducks, and walking her.... She doesn't have a lead now

Sickens me in the fact she is such a great dog, that was abused for no reason!!! But in my personal opinion I would never rescue for the RSPCA again! Sorry if that upsets any one, but when we rescued cookie we wasn't given any paper work as in vaccination card, microchipp number or iv papers! Was nothing but a pain

We rescued a Gun Shy Hunting Dog. A German Shorthair Pointer. One can only guess what he went through as a puppy but he hates loud noises, lighting and fireworks. We drove 6 hours to pick him up from a girl who had a car packed with dogs. He was skinny, had worms and was scared. He has turned out to be the friendliest dog on the planet, loves everything and everyone and always wants to be touching us, cuddling up and in the car with us. What a wonderful thing to happen from such a shy, skittish dog when we first got him. A little love goes a long way !
