A cage would keep your dog safe from harm, as well as yoru belongings.

If you use a small cage it is less likely to mess in there. How long are you leaving this dog alone for?

from what I read on crate training, you actually need to have a small cage (at least unitl puppy is reliably housetrained). The theory is that they wont mess in the area that they are going to sleep in if they can possibly help it but if the crate is large enough so that they can mess at one end and still lay out comfortably at the other end then they will. Obviously make sure that youre not leaving him longer than he is actually capable of holding it but if its just for a few hours and hes messing i'd try a smaller crate. Good Luck!

yes i would say get a large cage for your two jacks as they will have there own space and wont fight in the cage also when the jacks grow you can still use the cage if you have to. a cage is also good to use when traveling in a car as it fits well in the back of the car and your jacks will feel safer together.

In response to Delboy's reply; if I interpreted correctly that is!

Do not put two dogs in one cage; they are in fact more likely to fight and resent each other as they won't be able to have their own space away from one another, causing more fights and problems.

YOU CAN BUY A LARGE DOG CAGE WHICH HAS TWO HALF IN THE CAGE SO YOU CAN SEPARATE YOUR DOGS.

Don't particularly like the idea of a divider, they could still fight as there isn't any real separation between them

I disagree with dellboy, would definately not recommend leaving two dogs in the same cage!

And if your dog is 8 months old, he is mature in terms of his breed so YOU really need to work on his toilet training. Acquiring a crate won't achieve this on its own.
