Northumberland consults on Dog Ban on Beaches 1 Year, 6 Months ago
I have just read this article on the 'Driving with Dogs Website'. There is an opportunity to fill out a form online and send your views to the county council.

"Northumberland County Council are considering a dog ban on beaches in the North East.

The proposals have been made available to residents through the local press, but the many dog owners who visit the area have not been given the chance to make their voices heard.

If you and your dog have enjoyed a holiday in Northumberland with its many large, golden sandy beaches, or if you intend to visit in the future please respond to the short survey here:"

I think most dog owners expect restrictions on beaches during the Summmer. We have had them for quite a few years in Scarbouough, they work quite well. When our council tried to extend them further from March, there was war! Got 'Look North' on t.v. to come to Scarborough.
Most parts of country have them now.

I agree. Being a Yorkshireman myself, I love the way that we have access to the Yorkshire beaches. At Filey, as I'm sure you are aware, you can use certain parts of the beach all the year round. However it is a good opportunity to participate in the survey that the County Council are having to inform them of your preferences for that brilliant part of the country. There are several options to vote for. The council are to be congratulated for having such a good publicconsultation.
