Yes it does, because to my knowledge nobody can identify what religion a person is just be looking at them, unless they are wearing an obvious symbol such as a cross etc!

Making sweeping generalisations and jumping to conclusions leads to many inappropriate and mistaken conclusions at best and assault at worst!

Many people confuse religion, nationality and culture; they are three distinct issues!

It is no different for example than the approach taken with BSL is it!

Deary me, really didnt think my comment could have been so offending haha! i am really not racist, and i do not generalise or anything like that. i was merely saying that there are many muslims who own rotties/akita/GS dogs, therefore it explains them using them as guard dogs as these even in the British culture are known for guarding. I personally do not agree with having a dog as a guard dog but i accept other peoples cultures such as even eating dog and would never look at a muslim with an akita as a bad person! i was just saying that thinking about it, a lot do have them, hence their obvious culture! And yes, you can notice what religion people are, because many religions have a particular symbol! e.g. cross, face veil, yarmulke, etc.

don't worry Kizzy, i didn't find it in the least offending myself. i think with things like that, you are making yourself out to be more 'racist' by constantly picking up on harmless little comments like that (i'm not talking about SB, just in general) because i mean, i'm pretty sure people of different cultures to us want to be treated the same as us, and to do that you should avoid being SO careful to not offend, because you wouldn't be when referring to someone of the same cultural opinions, and looks as yourself. like, i used to be hesitant when referring to someone as 'black' (because my friend didn't like the word, but she was about 11 at the time!) but then i think, why should i be hesitant? black people know they are black. i know i am white so if someone referred to me as white i wouldn't have a problem with that! XD

I'm not disputing that, but most of their own breeds are banned over there.

Also, just because a dog breed has originated in a certain country... that doesn't make it a nice place to live! lol

Not that I'm saying there's anything wrong with Germany... I've only been once and it was crap because it was a school trip...

I do not know of ANY german breeds that are BANNED in Germany, please elaborate on which breeds these are and when this happened?!

Bearing in mind that most of the breeds you mention on your list are either those that they compete in Schutzhund with or hunting with, I would find this extremely odd!

I read it in a couple of dog magazines/papers. Plus my family live over there and were surprised how many "districts"/cities they were not allowed to visit because of their dogs.

Well I don't know why they would lie about not being able to live in the areas the areas they wanted to with their GSDs then

Very strange, when ALL GSDs must have a working qualification and be health screened before showing and that Schutzhund is a national sport and of course the home of the GSD!!!!

None of my friends who travel extensively in Germany to compete with their GSDs have ever found difficulty nor have any of the judges that come here from Germany informed us to be careful of where we go with our dogs!!!!!!!!

Of course there may be restrictions with reference to housing (just as there is here) re councils or private landlords, THAT is an entirely different matter!
