A dog that saved the life of a bride to be has been invited to the wedding as the guest of honour.

Zoe Christie was discovered close to death after becoming lost whilst out on a walk in November 2004. If it weren’t for the intervention of a stranger and his Boxer, Ms Christie would almost certainly have died.

John Richards and his pet Boxer, Boris, were out walking on the same evening as Zoe, when Boris discovered her freezing to death in fields near Ottery St Mary, Devon, just a few miles from her home in Newton Poppleford.

“We were total strangers but now know each other’s life stories,” said Ms Christie.

“John and his wife Sheila are first on the reception list when we come back to England from our wedding in Turkey.”

Naturally, Boris will be invited as a guest of honour.
