| Cliff dog finally rescued |
|
|
Fox, a Collie cross, had reacted aggressively on Wednesday when a coastguard team tried to rescue it from a cliff ledge near Bude, Cornwall. The owner told the RSPCA the dog was nervous around men, so a female inspector was sent down the cliff together with a male colleague. After being given food and water, Fox was put in an animal bag and heaved to the top of cliff. He was unharmed. RSPCA spokeswoman Jo Barr said a team of six inspectors were involved in the rescue of the 13-year-old canine. (BBC News) Praise for RSPCA inspectors "The dog was curled up in cave area, but it was not injured and was very pleased to see them" she said. Owner Jane Ravine said she was delighted to have Fox back home and praised the RSPCA inspectors. "They did a brilliant job, were very skilled and were also really nice to me when I was incredibly worried," she said. "I cannot thank them enough for everything." |
