| Dog adopted after 11 years |
![]() Jenny playing near her new home with Mr caffrey. Jenny was found tied to a lamppost in 1997 when she was just a year old. Staff from the Gables Farm Dogs' and Cats' Home took her to their rescue centre in Plymouth, where she would be a resident for the next 11 years! Staff found it difficult to find Jenny a home as she was frightened at first and as a result often showed signs of aggression. Once she had settled into her life at the rescue home, she was already too old for many people, who came to the centre looking for young dogs and puppies. Now however, Jenny has been adopted by Mary and Pat Caffrey, who saw Jenny’s plight on the rescue centre's website. Jenny was the longest resident of Gables Farm in the centre's 101-year history, spending the equivalent of 77 dog-years at the centre. "We walked around and saw the others and we walked back to her, looked at her, looked at each other and said: 'Yeah, we'll take her on,” said Mr Caffrey.
