Bulldog Matilda follows her human mum onto the silver screen

Print

JoanneIt’s a case of ‘like mother, like daughter’ as Bulldog Matilda follows in Jo’s footsteps. Two years after The Late Show presenter appeared as an extra in the Sex and the City movie, 18-month-old Matilda won a starring role in a new advert. The ad for Nature’s Menu will be shown in cinemas before Cats & Dogs: the Revenge of Kitty Galore – the long-awaited sequel to 2001’s Cats & Dogs.

The movie, which is about cats and dogs having to work together to defeat a rogue cat spy, has already been tipped as the film of the summer so Matilda is preparing herself for a launch to fame.

The advert features Matilda wearing a red and white spotted bow tie telling an interviewer why she loves Nature’s Menu food. Having no need for money, Matilda told producers that she wouldn’t get out of bed for any less than a crate of her favourite tripe. They were so keen to use her that they gave her a whole freezer full!

Beef tripe is Matilda’s absolute favourite food and has amazing health benefits in its natural form so Jo knows her little girl is getting the very best. Nature’s Menu also deliver for added convenience, which is ideal for a busy working mum like Jo.

Matilda currently joins Jo at work on Thursday nights when BBC London 94.9’s Late Show goes to the dogs. Barking at the Moon is the only weekly radio slot dedicated to man’s best friend and has amassed a huge following since it launched at the beginning of the year.

Matilda can be heard (usually snoring) on air Thursday nights from 10pm on BBC London 94.9 and look out for her at a cinema near you from 4th August 2010.

Jo started her professional life as an actress playing Carol Sands in ITV’s 1980s flagship soap, Crossroads, so she’s no stranger to TV. More recently she has appeared in The Bill and as a correspondent on TV programmes such as BBC South Today and Inside Out.
