Blind man climbs mountain |
 Rasha John and Diego. (photo whatsyourimpossible.com) John Wimmer, a blind mountaineer, has climbed a number mountains in his native US. Mount Hood rises nearly 12,000ft above the plains of Oregon, on America’s Pacific northwest. John was accompanied on his climb by his best friend Diego Joven and his guide dog Rasha, a Brindle Boxer. The three are undertaking an incredible 3,500 mile expedition around the US on a tandem bicycle, with Rasha in a doggy trailer. The expedition has been launched in order to raise money for UNICEF and to raise awareness in the US about climate change, but also to try to encourage the American people to become more active.
